Adobe Photoshop CCfor Windows

When they say don't believe everything you see on the internet, it's probably because of photo editing tools. Right now, everything can be manipulated with just a few clicks and a great eye for detail. You can easily erase that annoying scar on your knee without going through any sort of treatment. Did your cousin miss last week's family shindig? No problem. Just edit him in. Programs like Adobe Photoshop CC make that and so much more possible.

Editing powerhouse

Photoshop offers the most comprehensive set of editing tools, setting the standard in both graphic editing and digital art overall.

Known for being a pioneer in multimedia and creativity software products, Adobe leads the business of photo manipulation through Photoshop. While all this sounds amazing, this tool is not free. But the question remains: Is it really worth your money?

Adobe Photoshop has so many features that naming them all would take just too long. Its best and the most interesting aspect is its "non-destructive" editing capability. It works on the image pixels and uses a system of layers for you to be able to backtrack your work as needed. By assigning layers to your photos, you can modify some parts of your work without affecting the underlying pixels.

You can also merge images together through layers and make it more seamless. Make selections to blend rough edges through the Selection Brush tool. Use the Select Subject command to easily pick the main subject of your image. Apart from these, Photoshop has tools for cloning and retouching. Photoshop CC 2019 also has its own workspace for choosing source pixels and moving the result to a new layer for flawless blending.

Constantly keeping up with the times, Photoshop improved its 3D printing support. It can now produce beams and repair surfaces that wouldn't print correctly. You can even get color-coded 3D print previews and save 3D models as PDF or SVX files.

Ease of use

While Photoshop boasts the most powerful tools in photo manipulation, its interface is simple and straightforward. You can find the toolbar on a narrow row. Click on each icon to see sub-options like brush types and cloning tools. On the other side of the screen, you will see a system of palettes that contain layers, channels, actions, and adjustments to use in your images.
Despite the design, however, Photoshop may be overwhelming for beginners. Luckily, there's a bunch of sources online that can guide you in using the software. You may also find tutorials and useful articles on Adobe's website, as well as in the company's user guide. You can get live support by logging into your account. Community support is also available for less urgent concerns.

Where can you run this program?

Adobe Photoshop CC runs on both Windows and macOS. If you're planning to use it on your PC, make sure that you have Windows 7 or higher. It will run better on an Intel or AMD processor with 64-bit support; 2 GHz or faster processor and 2 GB or more of RAM. Keep in mind that this software no longer supports Windows 32-bit versions. Apple machines with macOS version 10.12 (Sierra), macOS version 10.13 (High Sierra), or macOS version 10.14 (Mojave) work with this photo editing tool like a breeze. It requires at least an OpenGL 2.0-capable system. 3D features are disabled on computers with less than 512MB of VRAM. Photoshop is also available in several languages including English, Spanish, French, Korean, and more.

Is there a better alternative?

If you don't want to spend money on an image editing software, GIMP is the best alternative to Adobe Photoshop CC. It's an open source program that features tools similar to those of its paid counterpart. This means it's absolutely free of charge. You can use tools for color correction, cloning, selection, enhancement, and more. The interface is a little bit different from Photoshop, but you can download a version that mimics the look of the well-known editor. It's available on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Pixlr is another photo manipulation tool available. This one, however, isn’t as complex as Photoshop. While it does not have its own desktop client, you may use its web application. It has all the basic functions like editing, cropping, resizing photos, and more. You can also use it to remove red eyes or whiten your teeth. Download their mobile app for Android and iOS for editing on the go.

Our take

While Adobe Photoshop CC obviously comes with a steep price, it delivers top-notch performance. The money you pay won't go to waste because of the many tasks that you can do with it. It's the most powerful photo editing tool thus far.

Should you download it?

Yes, especially if it's for professional use. But if you just need to retouch a couple of photos for a personal project, you might want to try other free alternatives.
