Grab your tools and head to Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a farm simulation game with a few unique features. You'll do more than farm fruits and vegetables; you'll face monsters inside the mine, hunt for geodes and go fishing.

Farming and romance

When farming becomes tedious, you're able to take to the beach and hunt for seashells or fish on the pier.

You inherit your grandfather's farm plot, an old and dilapidated piece of land that's ready to be cleaned up and start growing crops. As time passes, you'll soon become a pillar of the community, making friends and helping out around town.

Seasons soon pass, and the community's events give you a variety of chances to impress the villagers with your farming, hunting and fishing skills. There'll be competitions to enter, winning these gives you accessories to customize your character and new scarecrows to decorate your farm. If you're up for an adventure, take to the mines and fight fearsome monsters such as bats, swarms of insects and more.

When you get lonely, you've got two options available. You can join up with a maximum of 3 friends to create the most prosperous farm, slay more monsters and reel in the biggest catch. Or, you can simply go out into town and seek love, befriending and courting one of the many NPCs within the world.

Once you're married, they'll move to your farm with you, and you can start a family. You take care of your farm, help the town's residents, and you'll make your grandfather proud.

Where can you run this program?

Stardew Valley can run on any computer operating Windows Vista or later and doesn't require a high-end machine to run it.

Is there a better alternative?

Stardew Valley draws inspiration from games such as Harvest Moon but brings many new elements such as monster hunting and a story containing a little bit of magic. Similar games would include Starbound and Terraria.
