NAV Authenticator: Secure Two-Factor Identification for Tax Administration
NAV Authenticator is a free Android application developed by Nemzeti Adó- és Vámhivatal (National Tax and Customs Administration). This app offers two-factor identification to enhance the security of electronic tax administration processes. By generating codes or approving login notifications on users' mobile devices, NAV Authenticator adds an extra layer of protection to the Online Invoice System's web interface.
To utilize NAV Authenticator, users must have a secondary account in the Online Invoice System and meet specific technical requirements, including Android 7.0 or higher, an active internet connection, and a camera for scanning QR codes to add users. The app empowers users to perform various tasks such as generating control codes offline, managing users, enabling notification-based identification, and manually inputting data if QR code scanning is not feasible.
NAV Authenticator simplifies the connection process by enabling users to scan the system-generated QR code or manually enter a 16-digit code to link the app with the Online Invoice System. Once connected, users can activate two-factor identification by inputting the control code displayed in the app on the web interface. Additionally, the app supports English and German languages, offering users flexibility in language preferences.
