JioTV provides access to hundreds of channels of entertainment, from live sports to movies. The app also supports over 15 languages and covers a variety of topics. JioTV is free for Jio SIM users, who can also use their app’s log-in details to access it on PC.
JioTV and Jio SIM
Mobile-specific streaming services aren’t particularly new, from Vodafone Play to Airtel. JioTV joins their ranks. If you’re a Jio SIM user, you get exclusive use of the JioTV app for free. JioTV, as with its rivals, lets you watch and control live TV. You can also catch up on shows you’ve missed (up to a week after they first aired) and watch blockbuster movies.
Over 650 channels
Whether you’re a fan of American shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Friends, or Indian favorites such as Tujhse Hai Raabta and Splitsvilla, you’ll find it covered on JioTV. Take your pick from channels including SAB TV, Comedy Central, and HBO. Find movies on Sony Pix, Zee Cinema HD, and others.
You’ll also discover over 100 HD channels, ranging from topics including business and devotionals. For kids, there’s Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and more. Sports fans can watch live matches on JioSports and ESPN, including cricket and WWE.
You can pause, record, and rewind live TV with the app. Set reminders for your favorite shows and create a personalized TV guide of all your favorite channels. Check out featured stories in the app’s ‘news’ tab, or check out something different through the ‘featured’ tab.
The built-in media player is easy-to-use and also lets you switch channels by swiping left or right. You can also change the language from English to Hindi to Punjabi and more. It’s possible to alter the video playback quality to save on mobile data or if you’re experiencing a slow internet connection.
JioTV is another excellent app from the creators of JioCinema, however, the only disadvantage is that the app is only available for Jio SIM users. If that includes you, then there’s no reason not to take advantage of hundreds of channels of free TV content.
Should you download it?
Yes. If you’re able to access the app, don’t think twice about getting it.
