WinTrans: Easily Apply Transparency to Windows
WinTrans is a lightweight program developed by Ivory that leverages Windows 2000's transparency support to allow users to effortlessly make any window transparent. Without requiring installation, WinTrans places an icon in the system tray, enabling users to select individual windows for transparency customization. Each window can have a unique transparency level ranging from 0 to 255, or users can choose a specific color within the window to become transparent. However, it's worth noting that transparency settings are not saved once the program is closed, necessitating continuous operation to maintain the effect.
With WinTrans, users can keep track of background tasks while working on other applications by applying a subtle transparency effect. Yet, one downside is that the program automatically applies transparency to every launched window without user confirmation, which might not suit everyone's workflow.
