Extended and life changing
The name Kayla Itsines is now everywhere, and it’s no secret that she has the know-how to transform bodies. Her SWEAT app is an interactive version of the PDF guides, allowing you to support Kayla.
A personal trainer on your phone
The SWEAT app encompasses Itsines’ most famous program, BBG, as well as her other workouts for a sustainable, well-rounded fitness routine.
The first and most important part of the SWEAT app is the workouts. There are four different programs: BBG and BBG stronger by Kayla herself. There are two in collaboration with other names from the fitness industry - Body and Mind Yoga, and SELF post pregnancy.
Thanks to this setup, you can exercise using your body weight, weights and machines, do yoga, or even start getting back on track postpartum. In each program, there is LISS cardio as well, which includes light walking to complement the strengthening.
There is also a nutrition plan which you may use to supplement your exercise. Each meal comes with lists of ingredients, instructions, and estimated prep times. Each recipe also comes with a picture, and they tend to be straightforward to cook.
The interface allows you to log all of your training to keep track of how you're doing. There are fields for type, duration, as well as your hydration and nutrition. The app sets daily goals for you which you can view every day or on a monthly calendar.
Another section serves for socializing, where you share your progress and get educated about everything fitness and health-related for a more wholesome experience.
Where can you run this program?
On Android, you’ll need to be running version 5 and above. When it comes to Apple, SWEAT requires iOS 11.0, or watchOS 4.0 or later.
Is there a better alternative?
Yes. It comes down to personal preference, but there are fantastic, free options out there. For example, Nike Training Club is an excellent mix of all training styles, C25K serves as a prep for aspiring runners, and Daily Yoga is great for at-home yogis.
Our take
The SWEAT app covers all the bases in exercise and nutrition. It’s a great incentive for people reluctant to start exercising, to do so in a healthy, informed way.
Should you download it?
Yes, especially if you have no previous experience with fitness. Kayla will take you on a journey and teach you how to take care of your body.
