TreeSizefor Windows

Every disk eventually reaches its capacity, but TreeSize keeps you informed with the usage of your precious data and supports many languages. Never be surprised by lost space again.

Don’t run out of space again

TreeSize is versatile, and it’s fully capable of scanning hard drives and mobile devices.

With hard disks and solid-state drives having capacities as large as they do - holding multiple terabytes worth of information - you can easily forget that the space we have is finite. Because of this, you might install game after game, each with a large file size and not realize how fast your disks are filling up.

TreeSize is versatile, and it’s fully capable of scanning hard drives and mobile devices through the use of MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) and WebDAV. Scanning network shares and cloud drives, TreeSize keeps track of all avenues of data storage and monitors the space used within each of them. The scans done by this software are super fast as it uses the Master File Table for local drives. Scan results are easily broken down to let you find specific files.

To start TreeSize, open the context menu of any folder or drive that shows it’s size, including its subfolders and files in a File Explorer fashion. These folders are easily identified thanks to a gradient bar that gets displayed in the background.

A column view offers more detailed information for each of your folders and files. You’re able to view the size or number of your files and their last access date. You’ll also see the files owner as well as many other bits of information.

Where can you run this program?

TreeSize is available for Windows systems running Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. This makes it an excellent program for Windows users.

Is there a better alternative?

Yes, applications such as WinDirStat do more than monitor your disk usage. WinDirStat is also a disk clean up software, which helps you free up space after viewing where your space went.

Our take

TreeSize is a powerful and useful application that lets you monitor all your disk storage and prevents you from unknowingly filling your drive.

Should you download it?

Yes, TreeSize is a hand application to have installed as you’ll be able to keep track of both local and cloud drive storage space.
