- Time Setting: The game takes place in the mid-1950s, adding an old-fashioned touch to the environment.
- High Stakes: Your job sounds simple, but it's actually full of danger. Paying close attention is crucial because missing a single detail could be disastrous.
You start the game in desperate need of a job, and this role as a doorman comes just in time. However, the job is fraught with danger and tough choices.
Gameplay explained
That's not my Neighbor is engaging, with different game modes that make each play unique. Two main modes are available now: Arcade and Nightmare.
Arcade Mode
In this mode, you work from an office where you can see and evaluate the neighbors:
- Check and Decide: You look at neighbors through a window and check their documents to make sure they are who they say they are.
- Impact of Your Choices: If you make a mistake, it might allow a dangerous doppelganger into the building.
After each session, the game shows how well you did. It lists the doppelgangers caught, any neighbors wrongly accused, and whether you survived the night.
Nightmare Mode
This mode increases the game's challenge by adding a scarier atmosphere:
- Scary Setting: The office looks more terrifying, with blood and slime adding to the eerie feel.
- Direct Danger: Here, if a doppelganger gets in, you face immediate consequences.
Like in Arcade Mode, at the end of each session, you get a report detailing your actions and the outcomes, which helps you reflect on your choices.
