Just like magic
PowerISO is a dynamic, all-in-one tool that allows you to manipulate all manner of ISO files. The program is user-friendly and reliable, making it a popular choice for processing image files.
PowerISO: the lowdown
PowerISO is a one-stop-shop for anyone working with ISO files.
With this single program, you can open, extract, burn, create, edit, compress, encrypt, split, and convert your image files. CDs, DVDs, and even Blu Rays are compatible, as well as BIN files.
PowerISO’s interface is straightforward and intuitive. It utilizes many of the same commands as other Windows programs, such as drag-and-drop and the copy/paste clipboard function, so most users will find it easy to operate.
Some additional useful features include the ability to password protect your archives and use those archives directly without decompressing them. You can create as many as 23 virtual drives on which to mount your files and use them without needing to extract them first. Plus, a unique function is PowerISO’s bootable USB drive capability, which allows you to backup your OS in case of problems - something few if any other programs offer.
You need to register the product in order to receive the full benefits of the program. For example, unregistered users have a limit of 300MB on the files that they can create and edit, whereas registered users have the ability to process files as large as 8TB. Plus, registering gives you access to free lifetime software upgrades.
Is there a better alternative?
No. PowerISO is king when it comes to ISO files. If you insist on checking out alternatives, though, CDBurnerXP and Daemon Tools are decent options.
Where can you run this program?
This program runs on the following operating systems for both 32- and 64-bit operating systems: Windows XP and later.
PowerISO offers the best combination of functionality, compatibility, and ease-of-use on the market today. Some newer alternatives may be “sexier,” but PowerISO is the reliable workhorse of the pack.
