Hyper Light Drifter is a role-playing game, where you run through environments with beautiful colors and a perfect soundtrack.

This title is breathtakingly beautiful. You’ll find yourself constantly pausing to appreciate the designs and the intricacies in each level. Each area is so wonderfully designed, and the pixel art is striking.

This title is both visually and auditorily engaging. The soundtrack is one of the many elements that will resonate well with any player.

The enemies will grow tougher to face as you progress, and your starter weapon won’t cut it anymore. You’ll need to upgrade your weapon, learn powerful skills, collect new equipment, and traverse this detailed world if you want to succeed. 

Each time your character receives a blow, you’ll feel it. Your phone vibrates at the same time, adding further depth to the overall gaming experience. Indeed, you’ll feel the sensation fairly often, as the controls are mismatched when you’re attempting to perform combos. However, this is limited to larger devices that are harder to hold and reach across to press buttons.

No. Hyper Light Drifter is beautiful and the audio is incomparable to any similar game. Great alternatives for anyone with a limited budget are Star Hunter and Caves (Roguelike). Paid options worth trying include Severed and Dead Cells.
