Super Mario Run is a free action video game developed and published by Nintendo. It combines the beloved characters, familiar gameplay mechanics, and nostalgic appeal of the Super Mario series with the accessibility and convenience of mobile devices. Super Mario Run incorporates a common plotline seen in Super Mario games, where Mario must rescue Princess Peach from the clutches of the villainous Bowser. However, it introduces an additional objective: the rebuilding of the Mushroom Kingdom. As you progress through the levels, you’ll collect coins that can be used to purchase items and decorations, allowing them to customize your own Mushroom Kingdom.
Super Mario Run adopts a side-scrolling, auto-runner platform style of gameplay. You’ll take control of Mario or other unlockable characters as they navigate through a series of levels, timing jumps to collect coins and avoid enemies and hazards. Mario automatically runs from left to right, and your input is primarily focused on tapping the touch screen to make Mario jump. The levels are meticulously designed, presenting you with a variety of challenges, including gaps, enemies, and coin-filled paths. Each level is crafted with precision and offers a balanced mix of platforming elements that require timing, strategy, and quick reflexes. The game encourages replayability by implementing a multi-tiered coin collection system. You must complete levels multiple times, collecting pink, purple, and black coins in successive playthroughs. In addition to the main game mode, this game introduces Toad Rally as a captivating multiplayer experience. Here, you can challenge the ghost versions of other players' playthroughs, competing for high scores and impressing the adorable Toad characters. To access this, you must use Rally Tickets, which can be obtained through various in-game activities. However, unlike other Super Mario games, it does not include a level creation feature.
