8-bit Emulator for Mac
Have you ever wished you could play all those classic video games on your Mac? VICE allows you to do so by executing programs that run on old 8-bit computers.
The current version of VICE emulates the C64, C64DTV, C128, VIC20, almost all PET models, the PLUS4, and the CBM-II. For Commodore 64 fans, this opens up a whole new world of gaming that you may have forgotten, such as Brian Jack's Superstar Challenge and Winter Olympics.
VICE comes bundled with a few classics, such as Winter Games and The Great Giana Sisters. Although it would be nice to have had a few more games included, they are not large files. VICE even emulates the old Commodore workbench and floppy drive, providing an incredibly authentic experience in terms of graphics and sound.
VICE will certainly provide a blast from the past for anyone who had a Commodore 64, PET, or VIC20.
