Twilight Struggle: Red Sea is an award-winning 2-player card-driven strategy game developed by Playdek. Set during the Cold War, this game takes you to the Horn of Africa where the United States and the Soviet Union are struggling for power. As a player, you can lead the global policy and take the role of either the United States or the Soviet Union. The game features various actions that are vital to regional stability such as spreading political influence, conducting military coups, or attempting favorable political realignments. The goal is to gain allies and become the leading worldwide superpower. However, one wrong decision can lead to DEFCON One and a game-ending nuclear war.
The game features card mechanics based on the historical events of the Cold War, centered around East Africa, the Arabian Gulf, and the vital sea lanes stretching between them. New Flashpoint countries create additional tension around Coup attempts and have DEFCON impacts. Twilight Struggle: Red Sea also offers customized game options where specific cards from Twilight Struggle can be integrated to add an extra Late War turn.
