Gather a squad of iconic characters from The Division, Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell to take down Umbra, a dangerous terrorist organization, in this Ubisoft mobile game, Tom Clancy's Elite Squad.

Challenging but repetitive gameplay

Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad is a free-to-play mobile game, with simple but challenging gameplay, exciting thrills, and a stellar crossover character cast.

A terrorist organization named Umbra is wreaking havoc on the world, and it’s your job to assemble an effective team of powerful, and familiar heroes to bring them down. From the no-nonsense and anti-social Caveira to the wise-cracking Marcus Brown, Elite Squad has them all.

The gameplay is challenging, but most players might still find it exciting. You need to be strategic, choose your weapons and attacks carefully, and upgrade your squad continuously. While you can do most of that by using free gear, you may need the occasional microtransaction to keep up with other players.

The story, while good, falls a bit short. It is not as complex or engaging as other titles in the Tom Clancy franchise. However, the gameplay is quite fun and you can choose to play in either PvP or GvG instead.

This is very much a mobile title for fans of the series. If you are not an admirer, you will likely find Elite Squad’s story on the thin side, and its gameplay boring and repetitive. If nothing else, it is still an excellent game just to pass the time.

Where can you run this program?

Elite Squad will run on any device with Android devices that run version 5.0 or higher.

Is there a better alternative?

No. Despite its repetitiveness, the game is still very much a strategy game. Even if the story doesn’t appeal to you, fighting 5v5 or guild versus guild battles can provide hours of fun.

Our take

For Clancy die-hards, ES is ideal for gaming on the go. Although the gameplay isn’t as involved, it’s still challenging. The story also has a few twists, and the cartoony graphics work in the game’s favor.

Should you download it?

Yes. If you’re a fan of any game in the Tom Clancy series, Elite Squad is a must-have. The story might be a little thin, but the character crossovers, multiplayer battles, and fun art-style more than make up for it.
