STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town
STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town is a single-player role-playing game about farming and living within an idyllic rural community. It’s a game that keeps players busy, carrying out chores, interacting with NPCs, taking part in social events, and helping develop the town. Pioneers of Olive Town is part of the Story of Seasons saga and was created by Marvelous Inc. It sits alongside other farming simulation RPGs in its genre, like Friends of Mineral Town and A Wonderful Life.
STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town is available in 8 languages. It comes with character customizations and delightful graphics to suit players of all ages. Some activities that players can enjoy include crafting decorations, building automatic feeders, putting together crop sprinklers, finding sprites, as well as exploring the islands in the sky, volcanoes, and evergreen gardens.
As the descendant of Olive Town’s pioneers, the main character must work in the town and carry on their legacy. This involves rearing animals, cultivating crops, fishing, mining, running errands, and expanding the farm. Similar to My Time at Portia, it also comes with social events, including town races and championships. Players can also start families and raise children.
The great thing about this farm life simulator is the freedom players have in how they spend their time. Whether it’s working to improve the town’s infrastructure, upgrading their tools and decorations, or commissioning outfits and accessories, players can do whatever they like most. This includes taking part in 200 social events throughout the year.
A great way to while away a few hours, this farm simulation RPG can scratch the farm itch. However, STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town lacks the meaningful interactions seen in Stardew Valley and the automations of My Time at Portia.
