iFunny :) is a free Android social and entertainment media platform. While it includes some communication-centered features, its primary purpose is to present you with an endless source of funny pictures, memes, and GIFs. You can post original jokes and gain recognition, too!

Fun-first platform

Instagram, Reddit, and TikTok are platforms that gave birth to memes but aren’t exclusive to that content type. iFunny is a bit different, with a sole focus on posting and sharing funny images.

Otherwise, the app features all standard social network characteristics, letting you scroll through content, like and comment on posts, and message other users.

Intuitive user interface

The overall casual attitude extends to the app design. The main interface displays memes to browse through by scrolling down your screen. If you like anything in particular, you can give it a thumbs up or leave a comment. 

If the current lineup doesn’t cut it, you can check out the search tab to explore the various tags trending at that moment. You can also type terms in the search box to view everything related to those hashtags. 

When it comes to the social aspect, you’ll have to verify your phone number to unlock direct messaging. You’ll find various settings in-app to specify who can send you personal messages and add you to groups. 

If you post a meme, the community will determine its worth. The best posts get a spot in the ‘Featured’ section. If you publish original, quality content, you could even start advertising and make money off iFunny.

Demographic controversy

This app isn’t the most mainstream content source out there, and it doesn’t boast a large demographic. There’s a lot to see in the app, but the content updates don’t happen as often as on more popular platforms. 

If you’re just joining, note that a countercultural base consisting primarily of white nationalists is growing more prominent in-app.

Our take

Overall, iFunny is a well-developed app, but it doesn’t stand out in today’s environment. There are other, higher-quality social networks for you to join.

Should you download it?

No. Between the small user base, questionable groups, and the lack of extra features, iFunny ends up being much more trouble than it’s worth.
