Limited voice alteration tool
Voice Candy is a limited voice alteration tool developed by Potionfactory. It is available for the Mac platform and falls under the Music & Video category. Voice Candy offers a trial version license for users to try out its features.
Voice Candy allows users to record their voices and apply one of eight effects: Normal, Chipmunk, Vader, Robot, Old Radio, Bad Science Fiction, Phone, and Sore Throat. However, the quality of these effects is disappointing, with many of them poorly implemented. For example, the Bad Science Fiction effect adds only a few eerie noises in the background, and the Phone effect is barely audible. The Old Radio and Chipmunk effects fare slightly better.
One drawback of Voice Candy is that users have to record their voices every time they want to apply an effect. It would be more convenient if users could record a voice sample and then apply effects as desired. Additionally, Voice Candy only saves recordings in MOV format, which may limit compatibility with other platforms.
While Voice Candy offers some additional features like sending recordings to iTunes, setting reminders, and sharing via Apple Mail, these features do not make up for its limited effects and recording format. Overall, Voice Candy serves as a simple voice recorder but falls short as a comprehensive voice alteration tool.
