Enjoy hours of play on the new spin of the first game with Tetris Royale. Be the last person standing to achieve the ultimate victory.
Play solo or against other players
Fight your way to the top of the leaderboard in Tetris Royale, a new approach to the original. It might feel repetitive at times, but it’s great for small bursts of fun.
This title is a callback to the first version. The same concept applies here. Position the falling bricks in place to create solid horizontal lines. When you make one solid line, the line breaks down and falls away. If you happen to stack many at the same time, you’ll gain a significant advantage. The aim is to keep the entire area that you have to work with as clear as possible. All of this takes place while you compete with others.
As time goes on, the speed picks up and others slowly drop out of the competition. These 100 player matches always end with one coming out as the victor. If online play isn’t for you, there’s a solo mode that tracks your score and posts it on a leaderboard.
The multiplayer experience is a bit more exciting, though. This is because specific sets of lines have a direct affect on the boards of other players. Match three, for example, and you might speed up someone else’s match. You can even add extra sets of blocks to their game. Daily challenges allow you to earn rewards like power-ups and various boosters. These details keep the competition fresh and add to the replayability.
Where can you run this program?
The game runs on Android 4.4 and later. It’s also available for iPhone.
Is there a better alternative?
No. Tetris 99 is another choice, but the multiplayer doesn’t offer the same level of excitement.
Even with its minor flaws, this title is fantastic for a few minutes of fun every day. When things get a little monotonous, just put it down for a bit and come back the next day.
Should you download it?
Yes. If you’re looking for some fun competitive gameplay, this remake of the classic is a great choice.
