SingSong Karaoke Review

SingSong Karaoke 0/1

SingSong Karaoke is a fun karaoke game that allows you to put your singing skills to the test. The game claims to let you sing to any song in the world and rates your performance based on how well you sing. SingSong uses a Java applet to download, so you'll need to wait for it to open Java before you can start singing. Once downloaded, the game launches quickly, and you can start warming up your vocals.

In this trial version, you can choose from songs by Madonna, Eric Clapton, and Gloria Gaynor, but you'll need the original MP3 or OFF files to sing along. In the full version, you have the freedom to use any song you want, although you'll need to manually enter the lyrics using the note editor, which can be a tedious task. Alternatively, the game provides a few generic songs to try out, although they may feel cheesy.

SingSong scores your performance by measuring your voice against the original artist. However, it's hard to determine the accuracy of the scoring system, as shouting into the microphone can yield the same results as singing the correct words. The scoring format is also quite dull, as it only measures your accuracy in percentage instead of providing a more engaging scoring system like in SingStar.

Overall, SingSong Karaoke offers a nice idea and the ability to choose any song in the full version is great. However, the accuracy of the scoring system and the scoring format leave room for improvement.
