OSEx: A Basic DVD Ripper for Mac
OSEx is a popular video decryptor for DVD on the Mac platform. While it may now be discontinued and outpaced by more modern rippers, it still gets the job done for those looking to make copies of their disks.
One drawback of OSEx is its rather raw and unintuitive interface. There is no help file available, so users will need to click around and explore the buttons to understand their functionality. However, once you get the hang of it, OSEx offers several options for ripping DVDs. You can choose from program streams, element streams, DVD folders, DVD images, and Quicktime files. Additionally, you can select specific segments (title, chapter, cell, or VOBU) to rip or simply rip the entire disc.
OSEx also allows you to select individual sound, audio, and subtitle tracks to rip. The application is generally fast and doesn't interfere with other programs running on your Mac. However, it should be noted that OSEx is a very basic ripper and may not meet the needs of advanced users.
