LIFELIKE: A Mixture of Fantasy and Science Fiction
LIFELIKE is a role-playing game developed by mntsstudio and available for the Windows platform. The game takes place in the late 2000s and combines elements of fantasy and science fiction. The story follows Nathan Weeks, a local appliance store owner, who was conducting magical experiments to create Lifelikes - magical beings in robotic bodies that closely resemble humans. However, after Nathan's untimely demise, the once-inanimate appliances in the town of Greenbury, Ohio suddenly come to life.
In LIFELIKE, players assume the role of Leo, Nathan's grandchild, who is wrongfully accused of being responsible for the misbehaving appliances. Leo embarks on a quest to combat and defeat toasters, lamps, and other rogue machinery, all while responding to a mysterious plea for help at the condemned appliance store. The game features turn-based combat with magic attacks that incorporate real-life wave behavior, creating a fast-paced action-command style of gameplay. Players have the ability to defend against enemy attacks and even send them back to inflict more damage, even during the enemy's turn. Additionally, purchasing LIFELIKE includes access to all future episodes of the game released on Steam, making it a preorder with bonus content available from the start.
