Create stunning HDR photos with Hydra
Hydra is a powerful application that allows you to create High Dynamic Range (HDR) images from a series of regular photographs. By combining under and overexposed images, Hydra produces results that are closer to what the naked eye actually sees. With a user-friendly interface, Hydra makes it easy to apply the HDR effect to your photos.
When you open Hydra, you can import photos from your hard drive or directly from iPhoto. You can drag and drop up to ten photos into the interface to get started. Once you've selected the photos, you need to match them by selecting reference points and aligning them as closely as possible. This can be a bit challenging, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
After matching the photos, you can use the histogram view and sliders to adjust your HDR image until it has the desired shadows, light, and detail. Once you're satisfied with the adjustments, you can render the images, which may take some time for high-resolution images. If the images are well-matched, you'll notice impressive combination results.
Hydra also offers additional features such as 12 tone mapping presets, optional flashing low/highlights alerts, snapshots, and ghost artifact removal. However, the trial version includes an "Unregistered" watermark and the Hydra logo on the final image.
Overall, Hydra is a powerful tool for creating HDR images, and with some practice, you can achieve impressive results.
