Footagehead: Local and Remote Image Browser
Keep a lot of pictures? Need some way to browse them quickly? Footagehead is an easy-to-use image browser that does what you'd expect from an image browser, plus some handy extras. It is a user-friendly way to store and access your images remotely. With Footagehead, you can quickly find, browse, and display your photos. It also offers features like configurable keyboard shortcuts to flip through directories instantly and a slideshow feature that presents your pictures in a projector style.
One of the unique aspects of Footagehead is its ability to extract images from any HTML page or RSS streams, such as a Flickr photostream. Additionally, it supports archive formats like Zip, RAR, and LHA/LZH.
However, there are some design flaws that hinder the overall experience. The thumbnails displayed on the side are too small and difficult to read. Even when expanded, they do not utilize the entire screen, making the display poorly thought out.
Overall, Footagehead is a decent idea with some innovative features, but it is let down by these design flaws. With some improvements, it has the potential to score higher.
