Tons of upgrades and strategies
This title is all about setting up various types of units alongside a path to stop the enemy horde. It’s another installment in the Bloons universe and maintains the original flavor of the first release.
Endless combinations
Bloons TD 6 is another step in the right direction for the enjoyable tower defense series.
Bloons TD 6 puts you in the hot seat and in charge of a wide variety of tower types and upgrades. Every level throws different enemies at you. It’s on you to formulate different strategies and a mix of alternating units to keep the mobs off of the finish line.
In this installment, there are new upgrade trees and towers. The classic single-fire, spread shot, and elemental selections are still available. However, the upgrades make significant changes to how they work. Most of the fun you’ll have involves tweaking these to create unique defensive setups.
The visuals in this title are impressive. Units have unique decorations when you upgrade them and the animations are smooth. It’s still a 2D top-down title, though, so it has some limitations. The colors still pop and every explosion, ice blast, aura, and character death, is eye candy.
This iteration includes hero units. You don’t have to manage these so much. They upgrade automatically, and you can only have one at a time. They’re important because of their unique attacks and abilities. You can adjust them to fit your tower strategy. It’s a satisfying addition to the otherwise simplistic playstyle of the previous games.
Sadly, there’s a strong focus on microtransactions. This is expected in most mobile titles nowadays. In Bloons TD 6, though, it’s intrusive and distracts you from the fun gameplay.

Fun gameplay
Bloons TD 6 offers a modern twist on traditional tower defense games by using a 2.5D view and 3D graphics. The game introduces 'heroes'—a new type of unit that players can upgrade over time or by using in-game currency. Each monkey unit has a specific role, such as popping Bloons, slowing them down, or boosting the power of nearby monkeys.
Players face challenging waves of Bloons, each round bringing tougher challenges. Some Bloons have special properties, like resistance to certain types of attacks, which adds a layer of strategy to the game:
- Monkeys level up and unlock new abilities as they play.
- The layout of the map and obstacles influence where players place their monkeys.
- Events like Boss Bloons and powerful Paragon upgrades bring additional strategic depth.
