Asphalt 8 Features
The eighth title in the Asphalt series, Airborne features over 250 different vehicles for you to use. The game includes cars like the Suzuki GSX-R750, Audi RS 3 Sportback, or Ferrari 308 GTS. Airborne also includes motorcycles like the Nissan GT-R and Aston Martin V12 Zagato.

Gameplay modes
Asphalt 8 can be played offline. Airborne has a career mode, for instance. A single-player mode spread out between multiple race types like Classic, Elimination, Versus, and more.
Airborne offers a few online multiplayer modes too. There’s Local Wi-Fi multiplayer for competing against players sharing your internet connection. There are Time-Limited Online Events (or TLE’s) which pit you against other players in event races. There is also a ‘Multiplayer League’ replacing Airborne’s defunct World Series tournament.
In-app purchases
Asphalt 8 is free to download but contains in-app purchases. Players can purchase in-game currency along with fusion and token packs. Airborne also offers bundles for materials and car parts needed to unlock new vehicles.
Our take
Airborne has been around since 2013 but continues to hold up today. Many users have moved on from Airborne to Asphalt 9: Legends. Many new players consider Legends to be a more grounded arcade racer and not as predatory with its in-app purchases. There are cheats that players can take advantage of, but some players aren’t fond of the amount of hackers in Airborne.
Should you download it?
Yes. Despite its shortcomings, Airborne still has a loyal player-base who still plays the game today and enjoys its unique, ‘gravity defying’ flavor compared to more grounded racers like Need For Speed: No Limits and Real Racing 3.
