Great brush selection

ArtRage is one of many art applications available for your mobile device. It offers many powerful tools that put it on equal terms with professional apps, but the interface is clunkier than its competition.

No instructions

ArtRage is a miniature art studio on your iPhone or iPad and can deliver high-quality brushstrokes if you can navigate the UI.

ArtRage is a powerful application that allows you to create art on your iPhone or iPad using your finger or a stylus. With it, you're able to draw out a design no matter where you are or work to make new wallpapers for your home screen.

The application makes use of painting tools based on the ones you'd find in the real world. You can use oils, watercolors, rollers, crayons, pencils and many more to create a textured image filled with details.

The application works similar to a photo editor as well, importing images and using them as a base for the project you're editing. By having a background picture you can trace it or add details to it in a few strokes.

As you're working on your art project, you can add a layer above or below the current one. Working a separate layer keeps your tools from affecting other layers. You can then blend each section together.

There are a few downsides to using ArtRage on your iOS device aside from the normal drawing on a phone set of issues. The app's user interface has a poor design, and there's no ruler or description for tools. You may also encounter a menu that won't close without a fight.

Where can you run this program?

ArtRage is available for iOS 10.0 or later, Android 4.0 or up and has versions available for both Windows and MacOS.

Is there a better alternative?

Yes. This app is amazing, but it lacks a fully-fledged interface that increases its usability. Affinity Designer works with less hassle and can cater to any art level you need.

Our take

ArtRage is a decent art application. It has amazing tools but is limited immensely by the lack of usability presented to you.

Should you download it?

Yes. If you want an art application with amazing brushes, this is a great application, if you can forgive the interface layout.
