Alone in the Dark is a survival horror game developed by Eden Games and Hydravision Entertainment. This is the fifth installment in the series with a different take on the gameplay. The game is set in New York where the protagonist Edward, a paranormal activity investigator, is trying to uncover the truth behind his amnesia and the demonic invasion of the city.

The game is divided into episodes, and at the beginning of each episode, players are briefed on the main events of the previous ones. Players have the freedom to choose between first-person and third-person camera angles. The game's environment is interactive, and players can use any object as a melee weapon, break doors, or get unreachable items. Additionally, the game features a realistic fire model and a crafting system that allows players to combine items to create new tools.
