Poorly performing WiFi and hotspot finder

Enlarged image for AirPort Radar Widget
AirPort Radar Widget 0/1

AirPort Radar Widget is supposed to help you find AirPort and other wireless networks and hotspots instantly. It works with AirPort cards, MacWireless 11g PC Cards, and 11g PCI cards, displaying the network name and signal strength. However, it falls short in terms of effectiveness. My Mac's AirPort card found twice as many networks in my area compared to AirPort Radar Widget, indicating its lack of reliability.

If you do manage to find an open network using AirPort Radar Widget, you can easily connect to it with a double click. The widget also remembers "lost networks," allowing you to connect even if they don't immediately appear on your network list. Weak networks are greyed-out, while strong signals are highlighted in bold.

Unfortunately, AirPort Radar Widget lacks customization options, with virtually no preferences available except for the ability to adjust the scan memory setting. Overall, it fails to deliver a reliable and comprehensive WiFi and hotspot finding experience.
