Amazing JRPG

Persona 4 Golden 0/3

Persona 4 Golden by Atlus is the widely successful fourth game in the series, with some new elements. It adds some new activities and makes the program available on PlayStation 4 and PC platforms for purchase. This entry in the series follows you around Inaba as you try to solve a rash of serial murders while making friends.

Right in the action

The Persona series delivers one of its greatest successes yet with this edition.

Persona 5 is Atlus’s follow-up to P4, and though it significantly improved combat, it fails to do as good a job with storytelling. On the other hand, Golden’s story pace feels just right, and the characters feel like real people who you want to get to know.

Xenoblade’s Chronicles offers some of the best battles in JRPG, but offers little competition to our main title. The music in P4 is of stellar quality, and it blends well with the smooth gameplay that immerses players in the sprawling world.

Where can you run this program?

You can use it on Windows 8.1 and later.

Is there a better alternative?

No, there are no better options available, as Persona 5 only improves the fighting mechanism while failing to deliver as interesting a story. Xenoblade Chronicles has excellent combat, but it falls short of Golden’s superb storytelling.

Our take

Overall, even with the slow dungeons, the game has nothing else that detracts from playing it. The storyline is captivating, and the battles are tense. The music will capture your attention, while the characters make you wish you had friends like these.
