Sleek and organized documents

PDF files are the most secure and versatile file format available today. In fact, it is one of the few open formats used by multinationals, law firms and government offices. The reason? PDFs cannot be edited without letting other users know the file’s edit history. If you are in a situation where you do have to edit a PDF document, use PDF editor. It is the only business and productivity program that has a tool for every text, image, vector and raster related edit. Leaving you with sleek and organized documents that you’ll be proud to send to your bosses and colleagues.

PDF editor for Windows

PDF Editor stands out from other programs by boasting way more tools than its competitors. It can edit text, images, and even graphics.

As soon as you open the program, you’ll immediately see the program’s tools neatly organized into four rows. The first row is a standard set of options like File, Edit and View. It also organized tools that are not widely used like Page, Selection, and Advanced. The most useful option, though, is Language. It offers translations of their program, but only in twenty-one different languages. Below the main menu are the editing tools and quick access to some features from the main menu. Last are the different tabs that let you choose what to edit. It can be the file itself, the pages, or even the file’s password.

Looks familiar

Every PDF editor should have a comment or annotation tool. PDF Editor is no exception. In fact, you can add three kinds of comments: Note, Free Text and Stamp. You can also go to the Annotation menu when you need to highlight, underline and strikeout text. These features work in tandem with the Pointer tool, which selects and moves annotations, notes, form fields, link field and document objects. So, if you were to select a comment, new options will appear at the bottom of the page. Here, you can enter text or change the field type.

Where can you run this program?

PDF Editor can only run on a Windows operating system, starting with Windows Vista.

Is there a better alternative?

PDF Editor’s large tool kit may overwhelm you if you only need to annotate documents. A light and free alternative is Adobe Reader DC. In Adobe’s re-invention of Adobe Acrobat, you can do more than view PDF files. You can annotate your files using sticky notes, as well as highlight, underline and use strikethrough tools on your documents. The program also recognizes fillable form fields using the Fill Sign tool. Type your answers or select from the drop-down list so you don’t have to convert PDFs to Word documents then back again. The app’s best feature, though, is cloud storage integration. With it, you can share files through Adobe Document Cloud and work on your PDFs on your smartphone or laptop. It may not boast a bunch of editing features, but it certainly the most reliable reader and editor. And why shouldn’t it? Adobe is the inventor of PDFs.
