Collect your favorite players

NBA fans and players of NBA 2K20 might be interested in this program. With this app, you can collect updated cards of your favorite basketball players and scan your face to add it into your 2K20 experience.

Play against others

My NBA 2K20 requires a daily login just to play events that are reskinned from previous years and versions of the app.

This app is an animated card game. You’ll pick a favorite team and draw some cards to have some fun. In order to earn rewards, you’ll have to play your cards against an opponent’s.

The card play is interesting. You stack your players against those of the opposing team and play to randomly selected stats for that matchup. It’s engaging, especially when you have boosts that improve players’ performance for the game.

The user interaction is muddy here. You’ll be met with transition screens that await your tap to proceed; the issue here is that they don’t explicitly express that you need to tap on them. The tap targets on other menus are also rather small, and the whole app has a cluttered feel to it.

If you played the program from the previous year, you’ll see nothing has changed. This could prove frustrating for loyal fans hoping to see adjustments to gameplay or improvements to the interface.

The game is partially meant to be a companion app to 2K’s console and PC game, NBA 2K20. In order to access those features, you’ll have to log into the gaming account that has a copy of your saved file. The problem with this is that you need to re-enter your information every day to unlock these features, and there’s no permanent link.

Where can you run this program?

The game is available on iOS 11.0 and later. It also runs on Android and Windows.

Is there a better alternative?

Yes. While there isn’t any other application that gives you the NBA license or pairs with the 2K game, you can create your team and take on the world in Big Win Basketball.

Our take

My NBA 2K20 is a fine idea but is not executed well. A frustrating interface, lack of variety, and ridiculous sign-in process plague this program. You can find your basketball hype elsewhere.

Should you download it?

No. If you’re looking for a fun and up-to-date basketball app, this is not a good choice.
