Strategic and hardcore survival sim
Developed by Toplitz, the game will challenge you at every turn. You need to fight off starvation, wild beasts, and many dangers as you try to establish a village, build a reputation, and create a legacy.
Leave a legacy or die alone
Medieval Dynasty meshes RPG, survival, and world-builder genres into a difficult but fun game set in the middle ages.
Medieval Dynasty isn’t for the faint of heart. Taking your last breath alone in the forest is a real possibility, especially after an untimely encounter with a bison.
In the game, you’ll start as an eighteen-year-old hero, ready to carve their place in the world. Unfortunately, that means hard work, hunting, farming, increasing your skills and social standing, and trying to find a wife.
Aside from surviving murderous wildlife, you also need to eat, bathe, drink, and take care of your health. The game is so hard that most current mods focus on negating hunger and thirst, or increasing tool durability.
Unfortunately for mod-lovers, the challenge is the entire point. The story, gameplay, and achievements won’t feel nearly as rewarding if you take away the very mechanics that make it fun. You need to survive, peasant, for that’s the point of the game.
Where can you run this program?
Medieval Dynasty’s system requirements are relatively high, with the recommended specs including Windows 10, 16GB RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580.
Is there a better alternative?
No. It’s not quite as spartan as Life is Feudal, and, while it’s like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, it’s not quite as charming. Instead, Medieval Dynasty is a good middle ground between the two.
If you like hardcore survival and world-building, you’ll find the game exciting and challenging. If not, it may feel monotonous, needlessly complicated, and imbalanced.
Should you download it?
Yes. Medieval Dynasty offers you the chance to experience peasant life in the middle ages in a way that few other games do. It’s difficult to master, but you’ll have fun conquering every challenge it throws at you. In the end, you’ll either leave behind a lord’s legacy or a pauper’s pittance; the choice is yours.
