NetEase launched this mobile game in select Asian regions this July. Featuring all the well-known faces and hero suits, Marvel Duel lets players take them to life-or-death battles.

Marvel Duel is a fast-paced strategic card game for diehard fans, featuring all much-loved heroes and events from the universe.

This game has you restoring the world balance after an evil force messed with legendary history events. You do so by collecting heroes and developing a strategy to fight against the universe's Super-Villains.

This game comes with over 150 characters we all know and trust. You start with one of the five most popular: either Thor, Iron Man, Spiderman, Star-Lord, or Captain Marvel. As you play, you'll unlock and customize the deck.

The combat features epic 3D graphics and cinematic visual effects that live up to the movies. The battles take place on remarkable occasions such as the Infinity War, with unexpected turns to keep you on the edge of your seat.

This game is all about tactics. You'll customize the best combinations of strategy cards through trial and error, developing skills, and creating an all-powerful deck.

The gameplay does come with several laggy elements. Primarily, each superhero has a signature KO move that gets repetitive. Also, fights happen in rounds, but you can run out of time and not even know it.

Unfortunately, this is a multiplayer-only game, placing some restrictions on the players. It's still unknown when the game will come out in the US.

Is there a better alternative?

Yes, at least until NetEase fixes the gameplay lags. Magic: The Gathering, Keyforge, and Hearthstone are all well-developed, fantasy card games you can play online.

Our take

Marvel Duel is excitingly strategic and packed with familiar faces and events to thrill all franchise fans. It’s a bit clunky here and there, but still a great game.
