Immortals Fenyx Rising is a paid game developed by Ubisoft for PC and console devices inspired by Breath of the Wild. The title has a Greek mythos theme and was initially called Gods and Monsters. There are many enemies to battle and a massive world to discover.

Exploration

Exploration is one of the core parts of Immortals Fenyx Rising, with many gameplay mechanics focused solely on this aspect. One of the most enjoyable moments is jumping off a high cliff and gliding across the land on your wings. However, when you can't fly, you'll have to run with the chance of meeting enemies.

Fortunately, the combat element mixes with exploration. These encounters make the journey feel less tiresome and repetitive, similarly to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Combat

You can fight many well-known enemies from Greek mythology, including minotaurs and other epic beasts, as you complete the story. You have the opportunity to upgrade your abilities on your journey. These improvements let you challenge more formidable enemies and bosses.

You can fight with a sword, a bow, and other weapons. However, you need to plan your strikes and use your abilities wisely.

Story

Immortals Fenyx Rising's story follows Fenyx, a new winged demi-god, and the Gods' last hope. The main antagonist is Typhon, the deadliest Titan that cursed the Gods. Sadly, the story isn't entirely clear, and you may have issues following it.

Repetitive

The downside of this game is that it quickly becomes repetitive if you're speeding through it. If you only journey from quest to quest, you'll never experience the beauty of the world before you. You have to explore the land, battle enemies, and enjoy the story to prevent this game from turning into a grind.

Additionally, the game is a single-player title with no online multiplayer.

Our take

Immortals Fenyx Rising is similar to the free-to-play Genshin Impact. However, the difference comes after you purchase the game as you won't spend money on a gacha for new characters or weapons. The title is entertaining to play and will keep you occupied for at least 20 hours if you complete the main campaign.

Should you download it?
