Outdated Image Browser: gBrowser Review
gBrowser is a fairly basic image viewer developed by immaterialgoods for Mac users. It falls under the Music & Video category, specifically in the Photography subcategory. Unfortunately, gBrowser has not received any updates in the past two years, making its main features feel outdated. Despite this, we have decided to include it on our site for users who may still find it useful.
The interface of gBrowser consists of an explorer-style view on the left side, displaying your image folders, and the main part of the interface serves as a preview area for the images. One of the notable features is the image slider at the top, which allows you to zoom in and out of the images.
However, gBrowser lacks any editing features. It does provide some basic effects like drop shadow, sharpening, and outline, but it doesn't offer comprehensive editing capabilities. Double-clicking on an image opens it in a separate window.
One of the advertised features of gBrowser is the slideshow function, but unfortunately, every time we attempted to launch it, the program crashed. Even when we tried with only a few images, the same issue occurred. Therefore, it is recommended to use gBrowser solely for previewing images and not rely on its slideshow feature.
Overall, gBrowser is a very basic image viewer that lacks modern functionality. It is in need of an update to meet the standards of current image browsing software.
