Destiny 2 is an online-only, first-person shooter game where you traverse a mythical world filled with sci-fi technology. You're charged with the mission of taking back the last city and facing many dangers along the way.

An exotic world

Make new friends and side with old ones as you all endeavor to face dangerous raids.

Destiny 2 breaks your expectations, taking you through a vibrant planet and dark moons in raids and other events. Run, jump, and blast your way through hordes of enemies in the player-versus-environment campaign. As you complete this campaign you'll experience a rich and deep story that shouldn't be spoiled.

Fulfill your destiny

Settle a score with Gaul, a destroyer of worlds who stole your powers. You'll face many enemies, including the hive. But you won't have to do this alone. You invite your friends to join the fray. Find new battle buddies and side with old ones as you all endeavor to face dangerous raids to level yourselves up. Bonds get tested when the stakes are as high as this.

Or, if you'd rather make an enemy of your fellow guardians, take part in the player-versus-player game modes available in the Crucible. Fight as a team, or take everyone else on all at once. Aside from death matches and free-for-alls, a survival gamemode is another option.

You can also customize your character across several expansions while you engage with millions of players worldwide. You'll find all your RPG and shooter needs catered here.

Destiny 2 is free to play, but the game has microtransactions for new content and missions. If you choose to invest your money and time into it, you'll find it's a worthwhile undertaking.

Where can you run this program?

Destiny 2 is downloadable for 64-bit Windows 7 and higher operating systems, and requires a high-end system to run it.

Is there a better alternative?

The biggest competitor to Destiny 2 is Warframe, which features a lot of in-game grinding and provides the option to receive all content through hard work.

Our take

This change to an MMO challenges all past expectations. The game is more alive than it's ever been and you'll enjoy whichever guns you find.

Should you download it?

Yes. You don't have to risk losing your money, and continuous expansions will provide players with fun challenges and replayability.
