Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
First-person shooter action
Modern Warfare 3 offers the player the chance to enter military combat with a large selection of weapons to choose from. There are several maps to compete in against other players or a single-player campaign with a story to complete. As the name suggests, the setting is slightly futuristic, being set in 2025 (14 years after the game was released), although some of the game’s story takes place in the 1980s.
A large selection of modes and maps
Modern Warfare 3 offers many game modes to choose from, such as Team Defender, where each team has to hold onto their flag for as long as possible. There are also sixteen maps to choose from, all of which are available in multiplayer combat. A high degree of customization is possible with the game modes, as well. There is also Spec Ops mode, which is a kind of scenario mode where the player is placed in a specific situation with a goal to achieve.
Our take
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is an excellent example of a first-person shooter game, though it may look a little dated to some due to the fact that the game was initially released many years ago.
Should you buy it?
Despite the aging graphics, Modern Warfare 3 is still a good first-person shooter and worth playing for anyone who is a fan of the genre. There are several other games in the franchise, of course, including a remastered release of Modern Warfare 2, which is often considered to be the best Call of Duty game, as well as the more recent Advanced Warfare.
