Beyond the Mountains is a top-down action RPG game developed by Eric. The game takes you on a journey through a vast land filled with secrets, monsters, and ancient myths. As the protagonist, Peter, you are stranded in a foreign land armed only with your wits and curiosity. You must collect items, unlock secrets, and fight ferocious monsters to uncover a mysterious secret and save the world of Evalon from unthinkable destruction.
The game features a handcrafted overworld with intricate caves, tunnels, hidden paths, and overarching dungeons. You will explore beaches, towns, deserts, mountains, swamps, and a city of the dead, and battle your way through a volcano, flooded lighthouse, abandoned factory, and much more. The game also offers fishing and minigolf minigames to take a break from the action, and a goofy trading sequence to get into shenanigans. Beyond the Mountains has an original soundtrack of over 50 songs and hundreds of unique sprites and tiles. The game offers Super Easy, Hard, and Speedrun game modes to choose from.
