As far as gimmicks in games go, Swarm Racer is really scraping the barrel. Developed by Lexaloffle, this game puts you in control of a swarm of bees in a maze. Your objective is to split up the swarm of bees to clear the maze of gems in the fastest possible time. With an authentic arcade look and sound, Swarm Racer offers an unusual concept that is easy to play.
In Swarm Racer, you'll find yourself playing several games at once, controlling multiple bees simultaneously. The gameplay is reminiscent of the classic "collect the gems" Pacman style game, but with slightly less challenging gameplay. The only enemy you face is time, as there are no enemies or baddies to tackle. Walls magically appear and disappear to block your path, adding a slight twist to the gameplay.
While the concept of controlling a swarm of bees is intriguing, Swarm Racer relies more on gimmicks rather than gameplay to sell itself. The lack of challenging gameplay and limited appeal make it a bit tiresome after a few levels.
