Ever wanted to create your own animated GIFs but don't know where to start? GiftedMotion is a Java-based package that aims to make the process easy. Animated GIFs are great for avatars, moving banners, or adding some spice to your website. With GiftedMotion, you can simply browse to the images you want to include in your animated GIF, arrange them in the desired sequence, and then press 'Play' to preview the animation. Once you're satisfied, hit 'Record' to create your animated GIF.

However, there are a couple of downsides to using GiftedMotion. Like many Java-based applications, it can be quite slow to respond to commands. There is a noticeable delay when browsing for images and when reordering them. This sluggishness can make working with the program feel like wading through syrup. Additionally, the Help section only provides a Java pop-up with a web address for the handbook, which cannot be copied. While the manual is clear and well-annotated, it doesn't make up for the program's overall slowness.

Despite its drawbacks, GiftedMotion can eventually help you create your animated GIFs. Just be prepared for a slower and less efficient process than you might expect.
